This recipe is hypoallergenic because castile soap is made with natural fats like olive oil instead of the chemical additives and animal byproducts that react with the skin and tend to exacerbate allergies. The washing soda and borax are simply basic cleaning agents that give the same cleaning power as commercial cleansers without the powerful chemicals that cause allergic reactions.
